My Top 10 Emerging Influential blogs for 2009


A blogger friend Badong introduced me to the Top 10 Emerging Influential blogs for 2009 when he included me in his personal list. I didn’t know that this award exists but I was very much honored with the nomination. Unfortunately, when I checked the website of the organizer, it was then that I read that one criterion to be eligible for a nomination is that the blog should be created from May 1, 2008 to the present. This blog started last April of 2008. So I’m definitely not qualified.

Nevertheless, I am posting my own list as I would like to express my support for this endeavor as it not only honors bloggers but it also inspires us to make a difference in our continued efforts to express our thoughts, share our knowledge and insights to the world. Besides, I also received requests from fellow bloggers who wanted me to consider them in case I decide to post my own list for this award. It's hard to say no to such requests hehehe.

Please note that I will only be listing blogs that are eligible for the award based on the organizer’s criteria. There are so many great blogs out there but there are only few new blogs that stand out. In fact, I already have a complete list of top 10 about a week ago (before I got sick) but I decided to remove one blog from the list. The reason? I commented on this blogger’s article about a week ago and I didn’t even receive a reply. So I will have to put my nomination for this particular blog on hold, hehehe.

So without further ado, here is my personal pick for the top 10 Emerging Influential blogs for 2009. This is not yet final as I can still update this list until August 2 based on the rules.

    Salamat sa pagdaan dito, Roy. I don't know if you know him but i really like his blog. Siguro hindi lang sya mahilig mag-comment and his blog post are not well-commented. I'm just a bit disappointed for his lack of appreciation but if there are no other more deserving blogs that i can nominate, I would still put his blog on the top 10.

    actually, maraming ganyan, not replying to their commentators. actually ganyan din ako dati... kaya lang sa kakaunting nagco-comment sa akin, hindi ko pa ba sasagutin? :)

    it would be nice to strike a conversation with the blog host, but if he doesn't reply nor acknowledge, that wouldn't diminish the value of his post (pero sa akin lang yun a ;) )

    Would not answering post diminish a blog's value? I don't think so. Some people are understanding. We have life besides blogging...

    I agree, Snow, Roy. It will definitely not diminish the value of an article if we will not answer our reader's comments. But if we look at the reader's perspective, isn't it disappointing if you asked the blogger a question and it wasn't answered? If you are too busy and you can not answer or even just acknowledge comments, why enable commenting in the first place?

    Please don't get me wrong, guilty rin po ako dito minsan. I have a day job and i'm maintaining 3 blogs. Minsan wala na akong time na sumagot sa mga comments pero I always make sure na kung di ko man masagot yung comment sa blog post ko, if he's a blogger, I will return the favor by commenting on one of his post.

    Pero yun nga, ako lang yun hehehe.

    You're welcome po! I actually gave more weight on the blogger's effort. I'm not an authority in blogging so i don't know which blogs are doing good in every aspects of blogging but i know how hard to maintain a blog.

    Honestly, i'm just relying on my instincts. I personally don't know these bloggers and I only visited some of the blogs on the list when i was completing this list.
