The much-anticipated comeback of the country’s phenomenal reality series “Pinoy Big Brother” will happen tonight as the new set of housemates and the newly furnished PBB house will finally be revealed in "PBB Unlimited: The Big Fiesta" which will be shown on ABS-CBN.

Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzales will be hosting the show together with newbies Robi Domingo and Martin Concio. Robi Domingo was a former PBB finalist-turned actor and Martin Concio used to host “Music Uplate.“

The fourth and latest season promises to bring a fresh set of surprises and twists that is sure to entertain TV viewers. They said that viewers can brace themselves with unlimited combination of housemates and unlimited possibilities and twists. With over 30 thousand people auditioned in various points nationwide between March and September this year, this season promises to be the grandest. Overseas, auditions were also held in the USA and Japan.

“Pinoy Big Brother” has so far aired three adults, three teens, and two celebrity editions. It made a big mark on Philippine TV when it debuted in 2005 through a partnership with the British production company, Endemol. It has spawned big stars and has started the popularity of reality shows in the Philippines.

Jommy is "El Ultimo Participante" of the Pinoy Fear Factor.

Last night’s Pinoy Fear Factor finale came as a surprise when Jommy Teotico emerged as "El Ultimo Participante".

A few days before the finale week, there were speculations that Janna Dominguez will win in the reality show. There were also reports that they heard Cristine Reyes saying “Dapat si Janna nga manlibre kasi siya ang winner ng Pinoy Fear Factor” during the presscon of her soap "Eva Fonda". Janna is one of the casts of Eva Fonda. The flawless lady from Dagat-Dagatan reportedly smiled upon hearing the statement.

Well, after all is said and done, it was Jommy, the 24-year-old model who won the P2 million, a house and lot and the title "El Ultimo Participante". Janna Dominguez fell short in the show's last stunt "Car Roll Over" to emerge as the second best.

Both contestants were required to drive a car over a ramp that would explode, flipping the car over at least once. The participante that brought the car farthest from the ramp wins the contest.

Jommy’s driving expertise gave him the edge in the final challenge as his car flipped and settled more than 22 meters away from the ramp compared to Janna’s record of 17 meters and 10 centimeters.

Jommy who earned the moniker "Scorpion King" after eating 20 scorpions in one of the challenges also earned the respect and admiration of other contestants after setting a Fear Factor world record in the Car Re-Entry stunt.

Shaina Magdayao will play "Dragona" in Komiks Presents

After the successful showing of Kapitan Boom, Varga and Tiny Tony, another super heroine created by Mars Ravelo is going to fire up your TV screen and her name is “Dragona.”

Komiks Presents Dragona is topbilled by Shaina Magdayao as Dragona and Jake Cuenca will be her leading man. The cast also includes Alessandra de Rossi and Carlos Agassi. Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo’s Dragona: Ang Superhero Na May Ibubuga is directed by Trina Dayrit and is set to premiere by December.

John Lloyd Cruz will play a mentally-impaired husband in MMK

John Lloyd Cruz will play his most challenging role yet - a schizophrenic husband in the country’s premiere Drama series, “Maalala Mo Kaya”.

This is the first time that the actor which is also the current Box-office King will play a role of a mentally-impaired character.

It was told that he even visited the National Mental Hospital to observe the mentally-ill patients.

Allessandra de Rossi will play the role of his wife.

This episode directed by Jeffrey Jeturian will air on Saturday night, September 20, after XXX.

Dyosa premieres today.

The much-awaited fantaserye "Dyosa" starring Anne Curtis finally airs today (Monday) on Primetime Bida after months of preparation. The fantaserye, directed by Wenn Deramas is based on an original storyline featuring some of Philippine folklore’s most loved characters like Mariang Sinukuan and Bernardo Carpio.

With a powerhouse cast including heartthrobs Sam Milby, Luis Manzano and Zanjoe Marudo. Jaclyn Jose, Epy Quizon, Lloyd Samartino, Matt Mendoza and Mickey Ferriols also round out Dyosa’s impressive supporting cast.

Here’s the Synopsis:

Eighteen-year-old Josephine is living a normal life as a student, a part-time cosplay model and a loving daughter to her midget parents when she discovers that she is not an ordinary girl. A Satyr (half-man half-goat) appears before Dyosa on her 18th birthday to reveal that Josephine is actually a 'Dyosa' (a goddess), a descendant of Mariang Sinukuan and Bernardo Carpio, who is destined to rule the world of the upper gods.

Josephine has to make a choice: Will she heed the call of her destiny and save the dying world of the Philippine gods and goddesses and leave the life she has lived for 18 years? Or will she resist her new role as a goddess and give up her powers to stay in the human world with the mortal she loves?

Komik’s presents “Varga” premieres on August 2.

Mariel Rodriguez flies high on Saturday as Varga premieres on Philippine television. Varga is the latest boob tube superheroine--gifted with superpowers, beauty and a great body.

Mars Ravelo, the Father of Pinoy Superheroes, created Varga in 1947 which first appeared in Bulaklak magazine. It was said that it was Varga whom Ravelo would later evolve into the Pinoy superhero icon, "Darna" in 1949, when the comics creator joined Pilipino Komiks.

Varga is a powerful being from outer space. She lands on earth and becomes destined to protect the mankind from the forces of evil with the help a kind-hearted girl.

As an alien superheroine who comes to love and protect humanity, Varga will undergo challenges that will really test her character.

"Varga" is the second part of the Mars Ravelo’s Komiks Presents series. The first Komiks series presented "Kapitan Boom!" top-billed by model-turned-actor Jon Avila. "Kapitan Boom!" is a huge success, enjoying high ratings for its Saturday time-slot.

Bea, expelled from PDA season 2.

Beatriz "Bea" Muñoz, the Sweet Chanteuse from Muntinlupa bids goodbye to the Pinoy Dream Academy during its 5th Gala Performance Night. She only got 25.15 % of text votes compared to the 75.85 % of votes garnered by her boyfriend Miguel.

Bea reprises the Apo Hiking Society original “Yakap Sa Dilim” during the performance night but resident juror Gerald Salonga said that he’s not sure if Bea has enough singing ability to become a good singer.

In the meantime, Miguel was again included in the bottom 4 after their performances together with Bunny, Christian and Iñaki. However, Miguel was saved by the mentors. Don’t fail to watch the exciting Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 on ABS-CBN’s primetime bida.

Ejay Falcon is the PBB Teen Edition Plus Big Winner

The "Promdie Hottie" from Oriental Mindoro , Ejay Falcon was announced as the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus Big Winner on a jampacked Big Dome this Saturday night.

Ejay received 620,934 votes or 36.31% to win the title. Robi Domingo, “The True Blue Atenista” was the 2nd Teen Big Placer with 588,116 votes or 34.39%. "In-Chick" Nicole from Cebu was the 3rd Teen Big Placer and the "Rebellious" Beauty from Dumaguete was the first to face the crowd after she came in fourth.

Here is the final result of the text and online votes:
1. Ejay - 620,934 votes (36.31%)
2. Robi - 588,116 votes (34.39%)
3. Nicole – 314,582 votes (18.39%)
4. Beauty – 186,523 (10.91%)

Boy and Kris in Sykes Asia.

The number one morning show “Boy and Kris” on ABS-CBN recently invaded SYKES ASIA, the first and largest call center in the Philippines.

Boy Abunda himself and actor Jon Avila, went to SunnyMede IT Center, in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City, the newly-inaugurated home of the call center leader. The two went through the several phases of a call center agent’s life, from job interview, to training up to the actual call handling.

Sykes Asia is the officially recognized pioneer in the call center industry in the Philippines. It started with a headcount of 16 in 1997 and now boasts of over 8,000 employees in the country.

David Cook is the year's "American Idol".

It’s official, the grown-up rocker won the coveted title of the seventh season of “American Idol”. The twenty-five year old David Cook who was bartending and playing in a band before he joined the singing competition triumphed over rival David Archuleta by 12 million votes.

This is after the judges said that Archuleta outperformed Cook on Tuesday night’s show for choosing a song he had never performed before during this crucial stage to woo audiences. Cook, opted to sing “The World I Know” by Collective Soul instead of reprising one of his best performances of the season.

All the same, the two Davids garnered a record high of 97.5 million votes despite the “Idol’s” low ratings this season.

The Blue Springs, Missouri, native received 56 percent of the votes to Archuleta’s 44 percent to seal his victory. The contest was decided by text-messaging and telephone votes.

"This is amazing… Thank you," said Cook, who on top of being crowned this year's "Idol" will also receive a recording contract.

The new look of Pilipinas, Game KNB.

It’s been quite a while when I last saw this game show because I am always at work during its time slot and my rest days always falls in Saturdays and Sundays. And you would be lucky find me up earlier than noon during saturdays. So, I was surprised to see a different look on this ever-favorite game show. Aside from new dance steps that are being introduced by the dancing host Chairman Edu Manzano, PGKNB has also a new set and it has a new mechanics.

I used to liked the old panels that can go forward and backward but its new look is even better as it now goes up and down along with the players. Scores are flashed on their panels and don’t be surprised to see negative numbers as giving an incorrect answer has a corresponding deduction on the contestant's earnings.

P1 million is still at stake everyday and one of the studio contestants can also take home at least P50,000 pot money just by giving five consecutive correct answers.

Indeed, the rules of the game got even more exciting and questions are more challenging than before so I’m sure avid viewers will enjoy it.

Paula Abdul's blunder on American Idol

My officemates have been talking about this since last week and they’ve watched this video on YouTube. The subject is the recent blunder of Paula Abdul, one of the judges of the number one show on television “American Idol”.

Apparently, they changed the format by making the judges hold their appraisals until every contestant had a turn to perform unlike the usual format in which each performance is judged immediately. The Grammy award-winning pop singer gave her feedback for two songs by one of the contestant, Jason Castro – the problem is he only sung once.

“Oh gosh, we’ve never had to write these things down ... fast enough,” she began, shuffling through her note cards. “Jason, first song, I loved hearing your lower register, which we never really hear, um ... .”

And this is when she lost it.

“The second song, I felt like your usual charm wasn’t — it was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty.”

Certainly, it should be empty.
