Cher Calvin, anchor of KTLA CW, is again nominated for an Emmy, the most prestigious award for television programs in the US which is set this September.
Cher won an Emmy in 2007 when her show “KTLA Morning News: First/Early Edition” in Los Angeles was chosen as Best Newscast.
Calvin joined KTLA/CW about three years ago after working at Las Vegas’ Fox affiliate KVVU as co-anchor in the station’s “FOX5 News This Morning.” Her KTLA News special “Access Asia” won her the prestigious Golden Mike Award from the Radio & Television News Association.
Cher was once part of the early days of ABS-CBN’s Studio 23, where she anchored the talk show “Points of View.” She sharpened her newscasting talent on “News Central Primetime,” which won her a KBP (Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas) Golden Dove Awards, the local Emmy Awards equivalent, in 2002 for Best Newscast.
