I didn’t expect it. But the American Idol judges decided to save Matt from elimination after he received the least number of votes. Not that I don’t like Matt, he is actually one of my early favorites but he was struggling during the last couple of weeks not being able to please the judges. Well, it’s good that we’ll get to see him perform again next week.
Anoop Desai, Lil Rounds and Matt Giraud were at the bottom 3. Anoop was declared safe leaving Matt and Lil in the bottom 2. After 36 million votes, it was announced that Matt got the lowest number of votes but after he performed “for his life”, the judges decided to save him.
However, this means that two contestants will be eliminated next week and it will be a Disco week.

I was pleasantly surprised that they used their save for Matt. I like him, but he needs to step it up a little. I think there is no doubt he can not win. I dont think any of them can beat Adam. However this is an interesting predicament now, because say people decide they want Danny to win and Adam ends up at the bottom, they can not save him now. Will be interesting to see how this works out.

i'm not a big fan of Matt but honestly I expected him to be saved by the judges.why?he's got raw talent,he deserves to stay longer than Anoop and even Lil,to my opinion.but Matt has been getting low votes because he lacks charisma.(that's why i'm not a fan despite acknowledging his singing prowess).as to talent and showmanship,he's one of the best.though last wk wasn't a good performance for him,I agree with the judges' decision to save him coz he deserves to stay longer.anyway,i'm definitely rooting for Adam Lambert!he's way too exciting and his vocals superb! =)

I am a little bit surprised for the save as I thought the judges can save only once, so I am thinking what if Allison or Adam gets in bottom three? Can they still be saved? I hope Adam wins.
