Tomorrow is Quezon Day.

Tomorrow is a special holiday in Quezon City, Philippines in commemoration of the birth of the late Philippine president Manuel Luis Quezon who is recognized as the second President of the country. The city was named after the late president.

Quezon was born on August 19, 1878 in Baler, Tayabas (now Aurora) and was recognized as the foremost advocate of social justice during his lifetime. He was the first Filipino president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines under U.S. occupation rule during the early period of the 20th century. He also holds the distinction of being the first Senate President elected as President and the first president elected through a national election.

Quezon is best remembered for making Pilipino the national language thus earning him the honor as the “Father of the Philippine Language.”
