Stephen King’s “The Shining” e-book.

The Shining is a horror novel by American author Stephen King. It was King's third published novel, and first hardback bestseller, and the success of the book firmly established King as a preeminent author in the horror genre.

In 1977, The Shining was the first widely read novel to confront alcoholism and child abuse in baby-boomer families--especially the way alcoholism, a will toward failure in one's work, and abusing one's kids are passed down from generation to generation. The heart of the book is not an evil hotel but a pair of father-son relationships: Jack and his father, Jack and his son. This was both daring and insightful for its time, long before "dysfunctional family" was a cliché.

A film based upon the book, The Shining directed by Stanley Kubrick, was released in 1980. The book was later adapted into a television mini-series in 1997.

John Grisham's "The Last Juror" ebook.

One of my favorite writers is John Grisham, he is best known for his works of modern legal drama like "The Firm" and "A Time To Kill" among others. He began working on THE LAST JUROR in the late '80s, wanting to write novels set in fictional Ford County, Mississippi, but he was interrupted by the success of THE FIRM. THE LAST JUROR breaks out of the mold of Grisham's usual legal thrillers into a story about the growth of Willie Traynor from a callow young man to an older and wiser one.

Description:

The story begins with the demise of a small-town newspaper, the Ford County Times, in 1970. Willie Traynor, 23-year-old former cub reporter for the paper, takes it over with money from his grandmother. The paper it creaks along until success comes with its first big story--the rape and murder of a young widow by Danny Padgitt, member of a local bootlegging family. Convicted, given a life sentence, and still utterly remorseless, Padgitt swears vengeance against the jurors who declared him guilty. When he is paroled nine years later, jurors begin to die.

Download "The Science of Getting Rich" ebook

It’s been a long time since I posted here and shared the e-book of “The Alchemist” and I wrote then that it was just a start of me sharing some of the e-books in my collection.

Another book that created a great impact on me is “The Science of Getting Rich”. Although I haven’t totally applied the principles in the book (that’s why I’m not yet rich), the book only reminds us that attaining wealth is possible.

The Science of Getting Rich written by Wallace D. Wattles introduced the world to the power of positive thinking even before the release of “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale. It is considered a philosophy of Mental Science or Mind Science.

The Alchemist ebook

Last month, I posted a book review about a novel I recently read and while i was looking for a file in my computer, i found it again scattered with other files. I have a folder dedicated to my ebook collection but since i just read this book, it was misplaced. It suddenly struck me, that this book is too good to be kept on my pc along with the other ebooks in my collection. It’s “The Alchemist”, a novel written by Paulo Coelho, It’s an inspiring story about a boy who has the courage to follow his dream. It’s one of the best I’ve read in the past months that is worth sharing. I’ll be sharing here the e-book that was also sent to me. Feel free to download it but please do support the author by buying his book if you think it’s good.

This will be the first of a collection of e-books that i will be sharing in this blog.
