Azkals won over Palestine 4-3, finished third

The Philippine Football Team Azkals came out victorious in their battle for third against Palestine on the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup, 4-3 at full time. The match was held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Phil Younghusband scored an early goal in just the third minute courtesy of a pass from Team captain Chieffy Caligdong.

Palestine managed to score a goal and equalize the match in the 20th minute.

However, Younghusband gave the lead back to Azkals when he scored off a penalty after Caligdong was fouled inside the box.

Angel Guirado gave another goal to the Azkals in the 41st minute when he successfully evaded the goal keeper. The first half ended with the Philippines enjoying a 3-1 lead.

The Palestine team scored two more goals in the second half and showed great determination to catch up. But Juan Luis Guirado added another score for the Azkals and the game ended with the Azkals leading the game, 4-3.

The Philippines had a great run at this year's AFC Challenge Cup finishing third out of 8 nations competing in the tournament and out of 20 countries who joined the qualifying rounds.
