Malacañang declared a 4-day weekend in August

Malacañang Palace has announced August 29 (Monday) and August 30 (Tuesday) as non-working holidays, making it a 4-day long weekend for some workers.

August 29 is celebrated as National Heroes' Day while the end of Ramadan falls on August 30.

Section 2 of Proclamation 84 states that the proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of the end of Ramadan "shall hereafter be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient. To this end, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) shall inform the Office of the President on which day the holiday shall fall."

However, August 27 has not been declared a holiday. This was clarified by Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte through Twitter.
