Avril Lavigne, back in Manila.

Canadian punk princess Avril Lavigne arrived in Manila, Tuesday for her one-night concert dubbed as "Avril Lavigne: 2008 The Best Damn Tour Concert" at the Araneta Coliseum.

The pop rock artist is expected to entertain her Filipino fans through hit songs like "Complicated," "I'm With You," "Losing Grip," "Falling Down" and "Skater Boi," among others.

Fresh from her controversial performance in Malaysia, Lavigne arrived in the country ready to entertain Filipino fans. It will be remembered that the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, tried to cancel or delay Lavigne’s show in their country's capital last August 29 saying that her moves and stage concert were "too sexy." A report said thousands were entertained in the Malaysian capital by the pop-rock star.

The 23-year-old Napanee, Ontario native rose to fame via "Let Go," her first full-length album, which debuted at number eight on the Billboard charts in June 2002. She co-wrote the dozen introspective songs on her albums "Under My Skin" and "The Best Damn Thing."

This is the second time that Lavigne will perform for her Filipino fans after her first concert last March 31st of 2005.

The concert is produced by VIVA Concerts and Events with ABS-CBN and ASAP '08 as its official media partner.
